Palm Beach AI Company DeLorean Acquired by WellStack in Healthcare Intelligence Deal

DeLorean Artificial Intelligence was acquired by WellStack, bringing together two healthcare technology companies focused on helping providers turn massive amounts of clinical and operational data into better, and increasingly predictive, decisions. The deal combines WellStack’s healthcare data platform and analytics technology with DeLorean AI’s predictive intelligence capabilities.

For South Florida, the transaction represents the acquisition of a homegrown healthcare AI company that has spent years developing technology designed to predict disease progression and help healthcare organizations intervene before problems become more serious.

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Palm Beach, DeLorean AI specializes in predictive healthcare technology and uses artificial intelligence to help healthcare organizations anticipate patient needs and manage chronic conditions. CB Insights reports the company raised approximately $7.55 million prior to its acquisition and identifies investors including Pinta Capital Partners, Sopris Venture Capital, James Chow and Tech|X Accelerator.

Moving Healthcare AI From Insight to Action

Healthcare organizations have spent years accumulating enormous quantities of clinical, claims, financial and operational data. The challenge increasingly isn't obtaining the data, it's determining what to do with it.

The Madison, Wisconsin-based company has developed a healthcare data platform designed to unify and govern information so it can be used for analytics, artificial intelligence and decision-making. Its technology brings together clinical, financial and operational data and is designed to surface relevant information for healthcare teams rather than relying solely on traditional dashboards.

DeLorean adds another layer: predicting what could happen next. Its technology continuously evaluates clinical, claims and operational information to identify emerging risks, predict potential adverse events and recommend potential next actions for clinical and operational teams.

Together, the companies are building what WellStack describes as an end-to-end healthcare "decision intelligence" platform.

“The acquisition of DeLorean AI is not just about what we can achieve today. It’s about building the foundation for the next generation of healthcare innovation,” said Rich Waller, Chief Executive Officer of WellStack. “By combining WellStack’s health data platform with DeLorean AI’s advanced AI capabilities, we are expanding our ability to serve clients and accelerate product innovation. Together with DeLorean AI, WellStack is redefining what’s possible for healthcare organizations seeking smarter decisions, greater efficiency, and a competitive advantage in an increasingly complex market.”

The combination is designed to move healthcare organizations beyond answering what happened to understanding what is likely to happen next and determining what should be done about it.

WellStack says combining its data infrastructure with DeLorean's predictive technology will allow customers to move from aggregating data to identifying insights, initiating interventions and ultimately measuring whether those interventions worked.

Predicting Risk Before It Becomes a Bigger Problem

DeLorean's technology was built around one of healthcare's persistent challenges: identifying which patients require attention before their conditions worsen.

The company uses machine learning, clinical intelligence and real-world healthcare data to help health plans, providers and organizations carrying financial risk anticipate patient needs and transition from reactive treatment toward proactive intervention.

WellStack says the combined platform can help organizations identify clinical, operational and financial risks, with client case studies showing improvements in areas including patient adherence, avoidable healthcare utilization and revenue optimization.

The acquisition therefore reflects a broader evolution underway in healthcare AI: moving beyond systems that organize or summarize information toward technology that attempts to anticipate problems and recommend actions.

A South Florida Healthcare AI Exit

The deal also puts another spotlight on technology being developed in Palm Beach County. One patent covering "predictive and interventive intelligence," originally filed in 2020, was granted in May 2026, just months before the WellStack acquisition.

The company's acquisition represents a notable milestone for a South Florida company operating at the intersection of two sectors drawing significant investment and attention: artificial intelligence and healthcare.

Rather than developing a general-purpose AI platform and adapting it for healthcare, DeLorean has focused specifically on healthcare's complex data environment and the ability to predict disease onset and progression.

MacLaughlin sees deeper integration between artificial intelligence and healthcare data infrastructure as an important part of what comes next.

“The artificial intelligence market is evolving rapidly, and we believe that healthcare is on the cusp of an additional asymmetric evolution,” said Severence MacLaughlin, Chief Executive Officer of DeLorean Artificial Intelligence. “This will require deep integration with a healthcare institution’s data lake or the EMR. To stay ahead of this shift, we believe merging with WellStack best positions our joint capabilities to more seamlessly drive enhanced quality, decrease costs, and deliver better health outcomes for the patients we support.”

For WellStack, bringing that technology into its platform could help transform the company's underlying healthcare data infrastructure into a system capable of not only organizing information, but interpreting it and recommending what organizations should do next.

From Palm Beach Innovation to a Larger Healthcare Platform

The acquisition ultimately gives DeLorean's predictive technology a broader platform from which to operate. WellStack already works with healthcare organizations to create unified data environments capable of supporting analytics and AI. Adding DeLorean means that data foundation can increasingly be used to identify risk, recommend interventions and measure their results.

For South Florida's technology ecosystem, the transaction is also another example of locally developed intellectual property attracting an out-of-market strategic buyer. A Palm Beach company founded seven years ago, backed with millions in outside investment and focused on a specialized application of artificial intelligence is now becoming part of a larger healthcare technology platform.

And while healthcare has spent much of the past decade figuring out how to collect and organize its data, the next competitive race may be over something considerably more valuable: figuring out what is going to happen next and acting before it does.
